FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

J. MORRIS ANDERSON  APPOINTS STACI & DONIELLE TURNER
TO HEAD THE LITTLE MISS BLACK AMERICA PHILADELPHIA PAGEANT

From his offices in Philadelphia, J. Morris Anderson, founder
and  executive  producer of  the Miss Black America Pageant and
TV Special announced  the appointment of Mother and Daughter,
Staci  and  Donielle Turner to  head  the production of  the

Little Miss Black America Philadelphia Pageant."

With a joyous smile on his face,  Anderson said, "I'm ecstatic  to have discovered that Donielle Turner who is the current Miss Black America of Philadelphia, is also an intrinsic part of a mother and daughter team which owns the Grace and Style Dance Program. The Grace and Style Dance Program has  been consistently successful in their productions and promotions of their dance and talent concerts and their fund raisers,  and I am overjoyed that  they agreed to sit at the helm of the Little Miss Black America Philadelphia Pageant, and lead it deep into the Twenty First Century."

When I first met with Staci and Donielle Turner, I immediately

became aware that I was talking with a mother and daughter
united to instill their concept of Grace and Style into Little
Miss Black Americas.

Anderson founded the Miss Black America Pageant in 1968 to provide a  showcase for the beauty, talent and poise of young Black American Women.  Since then, the pageant has been staged in various cities  throughout the united states, and abroad. It has been nationally televised since  its inception.

"The Little Miss Black America concept was added during the re-birth of the MBA Pageant in 2010", Anderson said, and he emphasized that, "The time to develop self-esteem, self reliance, and self-confidence is at the earliest possible age."

When asked to describe the types of contestants for which the Little Miss Black America Pageant was looking, Anderson said, "Black Women fall in all colors,  shapes and contents of the rainbow. Some of the most talented women in  the world are black women - and that's for whom the MBA  Pageant's stage was created."

Anderson continued, "Every Black woman who walks on the face of  the earth has specific talent and her own form of unique beauty, therefore,  I am absolutely positive Staci and Donielle Turner will insure that no Little Black Girl is precluded from entering the Little Miss Black America Philadelphia Pageant."

Anderson was quick to point out that, "The MBAP was founded in  1968 and aired on National TV for decades to provide  a  stage on which  the black woman could display her talent, a microphone  through which she could air her views and a platform from which she could be presented as a Universal Symbol of Pride and Dignity".

Uninterruptedly, Anderson drove his point home, "Because Black Women were brainwashed into believing  women  with Afro American Features were less beautiful than women with European Features, there was a tendency among Black Americans to  believe that Black was ugly as opposed to beautiful. The MBA Pageant  went a long way in erasing such negative concepts of black beauty,  however, there still remains a long way to go,"

Anderson was eager to emphasize that, "It is absolutely necessary to start causing Black Ladies at the earliest possible age to display their talent and awaken the exultant pride that lives in all Black Females; and, Staci and Donielle Turner are eminently qualified to fulfill that objective."                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Anderson also said, "Donielle Turner firmly convinced me that I was face to face with a motivating energy that would keep the Little MBA Philadelphia Pageant at the forefront of its undertaking when I overheard her counseling and inspiring one of her little students at the Grace and Style Dance Program."  She said to the
child, "I want you to relax, hold your head high, have confidence in yourself and you can accomplish the task at hand ."

The Miss Black America Pageant is on a roll and is standing tall. "My goal is to again make the Miss  Black America Pageant the most spectacular Pageant on television and I can  now see it happening," Anderson said.

Anderson was asked to reiterate why he chose Staci and Donielle as the driving Forces of the Little MBA Philadelphia Pageant and he answered without wavering, "Staci is a successful educator with the School system. She is also an accomplished dance and talent instructor who has done a yeoman job in rearing her own daughter, Donielle; and,  Donielle is also a rising star. She  has won an array of pageants in her young life, and she is a 20ll graduate of Lincoln University."

Anderson was especially buoyant about Staci and Donielle's  backgrounds, particularly the fact that their careers exemplify the exact example of what the Little Miss Black America Pageant is about.

"Not coincidentally", Anderson stated, "The experiences of Staci and Donielle  are specifically what the Little MBA Philadelphia Pageant demands. The Turners' Grace and Style program  offers an advantage to the  Pageant because the Turners understand the nuances of the MBA Pageant System. This especially, since Donielle  currently holds the title of  Miss Black America Philadelphia Adult.

"Because both of these ladies are clear headed, they are focused,  they are fashionable, they are clever, and they are  accomplished in their own business right,  they bring an indefatigable amount of energy to this venture; and, above all, they are profoundly enthusiastic about standing at the vanguard of the new Little Miss Black America Philadelphia Pageant."

Little Miss Black America Contestants are accepted from the age of 9 thru 12 years. The Little Miss Black America Pageant also has a program for Tiny Miss Black Americas for those Seeds of Positivity who fall under the age of nine years.

The 2011-12 Little Miss Black America Pageant will be staged at 3:00 p.m. on September 10th at The Community College, Bonnel Building's Auditorium - located on 17TH STREET NEAR SPRING GARDEN.

The Little Miss Black America Pageant is seeking contestants from All areas of Metropolitan Philadelphia and surrounding areas, including Chestnut Hill, Germantown, North Philadelphia, South Philadelphia, West Philadelphia, Mt. Airy,  and any and all areas within a 50 mile radius of Philadelphia which does not have an official Miss Black America Pageant.
